“Let those of us who are mature think this way, and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal that also to you.” -Philippians 3:15
Today’s Encouragement: In our everyday lives, we have do different activities or tasks. Staying focused long enough to accomplish goals with excellence is a challenge if we don’t take the time to prioritize and set appropriate boundaries. In reality, we can’t do all things well.
This verse primarily teaches us that we must get our priorities straight. Our primary assignment is to focus on nurturing our relationship with God.
Once we commit our relationship with God, God will provide us with the clear vision needed to focus on the calling or assignments we are called to do. Distractions will come and are ineviable but we must learn the importance of asking God for wisdom on what things to accept or decline.
What things do we spend our time on that are distracting us from staying focused on God and the things that God has called us to do? Turn off social media, TV, or electronic devices for a time if needed. I encourage you to re-connect with God through prayer to hear from the Holy Spirit and stay focused.
Prayer: Dear God, Thank You for guiding me to commit on my relationship with You. Thank You for never giving up on me when I may wander from Your presence. Please grant me courage and wisdom to know when to set down distractions and to realign my commitment to you. In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen.Reflection: What is one distraction you can give up to strengthen and nurture your focus and relationship with God
